Japanese game company Nintendo has always been known for its unique devices. The company has been especially popular when it released the Wii console, which features a motion sensor, in 2006. For over three years, the device has been sold out everywhere. Nintendo is best known as a pioneer of the multiplayer handheld gaming console, the Nintendo DS. The device has been a must-have for gamers of every level, from beginners to avid players.
On Sept 1, Tuesday, the company has announced the Nintendo 3DS XL Hyrule Gold Edition. The special edition 3DS XL console retails for $199.99 and is exclusive to Game Stop. The console features a Hyilian crest on the outer covering, which looks elegant and intricate. The new device will begin selling late next month, on Oct 31.
Apart from the 3DS XL Hyrule Gold Edition, Nintendo has also announced that the new 3DS system will be coming to North America. The new system will be coming with Nintendo's game bundle, which includes Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. According to Nintendo Everything, the bundle is also inclusive of a 3DS device, one amiibo card and two covers. The bundle is priced at $219.99 and will be launched on Sept 25.
Nintendo will also be updating its eShop on Sept 3, Thursday, for users in Europe, according to Nintendo Insider. The eShop will be getting game titles Rainbow, Star Tropics, Little Battlers Experience and Sin and Punishment as headlines for its update in the European regions. The update also includes special discounted offers for 3DS and Wii U games and new game downloads for Wii U.
Nintendo has earlier announced a price slash for its entry-level gaming console, the Nintendo 2DS. The company said that this will entice more budding gamers to pursue gaming, with the device now made more affordable. Nintendo also said that many game titles from the company's extensive collection can be played using the basic gaming device.
The Wii U, on the other hand, has reached 10 million units in sales last month. The figures make the console the third best-selling gaming device to Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One, which sold 25 million units and 13 million units, respectively.
