Smartphones these days are coming with bigger and bigger storage capacity. Before, 16GB is already huge for handsets, and it took a while before the size has been considered standard for smartphones. Now, high-end flagships have a storage capacity that starts with 32GB and such models are offered in that version, as well as 64GB variants. The standard has already doubled its size.
Now, one of Google's newest Nexus phones, the Huawei Nexus is reported to be equipped with a massive 128GB storage capacity. Leaks of the soon-to-be-released handset revealed that the device will also come in 32GB and 64GB variants. According to Android Police, the Huawei Nexus will also be coming with a MicroSD slot for even larger storage, even as Google has announced refocusing on expandable memory with the Android Marshmallow.
The new Nexus phone from Huawei is rumoured to be called the Nexus 6P, according to Phonedog. Neither Huawei nor Google has confirmed the speculations regarding their newest handset. If it were proven to be true, however, the Nexus 6P will be the first Nexus phone to offer the large internal storage capacity. Since the device is reported to be offered in three variants depending on storage size, there may be a $50-$100 gaps between the prices of the device.
Huawei Nexus is said to have a 5.7-inch display, with 1920 x 1080pixel screen resolution. The new device will also sport the Snapdragon 810 processor. Pricing and specs have not been confirmed by Google and reports have been based on sources who are familiar with the matter. Another Nexus phone will also be introduced alongside the Huawei Nexus.
The LG Nexus is reported to be announced together with the Huawei Nexus on Google's Nexus event. The event will be held on Sept. 29, in San Francisco. As in the Huawei Nexus, pricing and specs of the LG Nexus have not been confirmed, but the handset is rumoured to come in 16GB and 32GB variants. There are only a few days left to know for sure.
