Watch Out For Android's September 29th Event

Mark the calendars, Google has sent out invites to the press for their event in San Francisco on Sept 29 at 9:00 am PT. Details are still unclear, but signs and rumors point out to two new Nexus phones, Android 6.0 and a newly upgraded Chromecast is in tow in the coming days.

Reports have surfaced that Google will be announcing two new phones during the event -- one from the makers of the first Nexus 5, LG and another from Chinese smartphone powerhouse Huawei. The Nexus 5X, by LG, is rumored to be armed with a Snapdragon 808 chipset, 2GB of RAM, a full HD display, a 12.3MP primary shooter and a fingerprint sensor at the back of the unit.

Huawei's first Nexus device, the Nexus 6P, will be equipped with a Snapdragon 810 chipset, which was a bit surprising as the Chinese manufacturer's previous flagship models featured its Kirin chipset. 3GB of RAM and a 5.7-inch Quad HD display are also expected onboard. Recent rumors suggest that the Nexus 6P will be packing in a whopping 128GB of internal storage, with 64GB ad 32GB variants available.

Another hardware set to be unveiled in Google's event is a second generation of Chromecast. It's expected to come out with a new, reformed design, similar to that of a frying pan and it will be available in three colors -- red, black and lime. Reports also suggest that the new Chromecast will feature a much improved Wi-Fi connection as well as a new feature called Fast Play to improve casting speed when streaming content.

Google also hints at unveiling the latest version of its mobile operating system with a cryptic message invitation that reads, "Join us for some tasty new treats and much s'more." clearly indicating the relation of s'mores to marshmallows. And accordingly, it would be almost 12 since Android 5.0 Lollipop came out. It all checks out.
