The expansion pack is upcoming to the Extended Edition of Age of Mythology, which will arrive with a few visual and user interface bumps, much like the Age of Empires II. In fact, the developers from SkyBox Labs and Forgotten Empires have earlier expansions for older games, releasing 'The Forgotten' expansion for 'Age of Empires II'.
Usually, expansion packs for several games are released relatively sooner after the main game is available, which the case for the expansion pack was named "The Titans for Age of Mythology". The base game was released 13 years ago, with the expansion following the year after.
Recently, Forgotten Empires proclaimed a brand new expansion for the old classic game called "Age of Mythology: Tale of the Dragon". The fresh content was disclosed this summer during E3, leading to lots of discussions and talks among the enthusiasts, but now such has been verified. The expansion is being established in association with Forgotten Empires and SkyBox Labs.
Microsoft's upkeep of PC gaming has been getting a little strange of late. Overlooking Forza or Halo, the followers are getting a new Age of Mythology expansion some 13 years later after the original game was launched. The 'Age of Mythology: Tales of the Dragon' is founded on the Chinese Zhou, Qin and Han Dynasties.
"It has been 13 years ever since the issue of Age of Mythology on PC. And 12 years subsequently after the release of its expansion pack, The Titans. But for awesome games like Age of Mythology, these years are just a number. It is time for a new expansion pack. With the shared experiences and with expansions for the Age of Empires II series, Age of Mythology nearly feels like the next rational step although next time enthusiasts probably should not wait over a decade before taking on the test," wrote Forgotten Empires.
Information are quite rare on just what the "Tale of the Dragon" expansion will involve. Whatever the case, the fans will find out more details on Oct. 2 when an official livestream will disclose it all.
