OnePlus has made huge waves in the internet during the course of both of its flagships, and both have been well received by its user base despite the company's invite-exclusive system. Now that the Chinese company has made its name in the lucrative smartphone market, it seems that OnePlus is ready to ship another device that would likely be released by the end of the year. The OnePlus Mini, or what it is likely to be called, has recently surfaced with its specifications detailed.
The leak comes from an anonymous source, who claims that the new handset's details are from a OnePlus Mini prototype that is already two months old. This means that certain hardware specifications may change when it hits release date. But other than that, the OnePlus Mini features flagship specifications that can match up against those in the big leagues.
For starters, the OnePlus Mini will be housing a MediaTek Helio X10 chipset with a 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 octa-core processor. It is speculated that the handset will be equipped with 2 GB of RAM, with storage going as big as 32 GB.
For its snappers, the OnePlus Mini will feature a 13 MP primary shooter with Sony IMX258 Sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It will also be complemented with a dual-tone LED flash setup for low light photography. For selfies, the handset will reportedly feature a 5 MP wide-angle front camera.
The OnePlus Mini will also be featuring either a 3,000 mAh or 3,100 mAh battery, and users will be able to charge it through the newest standard, which is USB Type-C. A quick charging feature is also to be expected, and NFC and IR blaster will be onboard as well.
Lastly, the OnePlus Mini will be equipped with a fingerprint sensor at the back of the handset itself. Add up a 1.2 W front-facing speaker and an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, and the OnePlus Mini can easily be a daily driver.
Rumors suggest that the OnePlus Mini will be priced at a solid $250. Not too big of a price to pay for a phone with the stated specifications. The handset may soon be available before the year ends, it is most likely to see a November or December release.
