The Surface Pro 4 Is Microsoft's Ideal Hybrid Tablet

The hotly anticipated Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft has finally been officially unveiled in Redmond's hardware event held in New York just recently. The software giant basically refined the design of the Surface Pro 4 and brought upon a slew of updates to herald in the new age of hybrid tablets. Boasting a much improve form factor, a host of improvements coming from its predecessor, and Windows 10 running in its core, the Surface Pro 4 becomes the ideal hybrid tablet for Microsoft and its consumers.

The Surface Pro 4, according to Microsoft, is the "thinnest, most powerful" Intel Core PC ever shipped - the hybrid tablet measures 8.4 mm thick and 1.69 pounds for the Intel Core M offering. For comparison, its predecessor comes with a thicker 9.1 mm thickness and 1.76 pound weight. Going up a notch with an Intel Core i5 variant of the Surface Pro 4 will give the hybrid tablet a tad heavier weight at 1.73. While some may consider it as a subtle change, it still comes as a rather huge improvement especially when compared to the Surface Pro 3.

Furthermore, the Surface Pro 4 also comes with an all-new Surface Pen. It features an eraser at the other side of the tip, a year-long battery life, as well as 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity to cater to the artists out there.

For the specifications regarding its internals, the Surface Pro 4 is powered by a sixth-generation Intel 'Skylake' Core m3, i5, or i7 processor. Memory options go as big as 16GB and the storage can go up to 1TB. Microsoft also managed to add 0.3 inches to the display without making the device larger - a 12.3-inch display with a 2,736 x 1,824 resolution along with a layer of Gorilla Glass 4 graces the front end of the Surface Pro 4.

Microsoft has made several attempts at making a hybrid tablet that can replace a laptop to an extent, and it just keeps on getting better and better each year. Apple's iPad Pro and Google's Pixel C are also set to disrupt the competition, but with Windows 10 running the show, Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is the ideal hybrid tablet to buy at the moment.
