Acer's AIO Becomes A Portable Tablet By Adding A Battery

Microsoft's Windows 10 has been a hot topic since its conception. With Redmond releasing their very first ultrabook, the Surface Book, and a couple of hot new products running the latest desktop operating system, Microsoft has definitely made itself more dominant in the market now.

Third-party OEMs have also jumped into the trend as they release a slew of Windows 10 devices so as not to be left out behind the curve. Acer is one of those companies that followed suit as they debut two new products, the Aspire R14 convertible laptop and the Aspire Z3-700 AIO.

First, the Aspire R14 is a convertible laptop that can go into four different modes - tent, tablet, laptop and display mode. It features Intel's sixth generation Core Skylake CPUs, up to 8GB of DDR3L for memory options, up to 512GB of speedy SSD storage, a 14-inch Full HD touchscreen display, and up to nine hours of battery life. It comes with a metal chassis that is made through nano-imprint technology, an eco-friendly technology process that gives the R14 a stylish and sleek look.

For an All-in-One solution, Acer brings out the Aspire Z3-700 - a desktop computer with a 17.3-inch Full HD touchscreen display Featuring two foldable kickstands, it can be used as a traditional AIO when propped or a massive Windows tablet when retracted. Processor variants feature Intel's Pentium and Celeron CPUs, and memory options go up to 8GB of RAM as well.

For storage, it can be equipped with a standard HDD that can go as big as 500GB or a blazing fast SSD up to 256GB. Probably the most notable thing here is that Acer equipped it with a built-in battery that can give up to five hours of juice. It's one of the lightest AIOs as well coming at 4.5lbs, so users can bring it easily without the bulk of the weight that usually comes with AIOs.

The Aspire R14 and the Z3-700 feature Acer's TrueHarmony Plus and Dolby audio, and both will be running on Windows 10 when they hit the market. The convertible notebook will be available in the United States and the EMEA this October with a starting price of $699. The Aspire Z3-700 AIO will only be available for the EMEA by the end of the year, and prices start at 599 euros.
