ELE Watch Could Change the Android Wear Market

From the makers of Elephone comes the ELE smartwatch. With a tag price so affordable, it could change the game in the Android Wear category.

To this present date, smartwatches are very expensive. This product is generally limited to folks who have money at their disposal. But that does not mean the trend would stay like that forever, as online retailer GearBest puts up an arrival notice for the new ELE smartwatches.

The ELE smartwatches put up by GearBest showcases the said Android Wear specifications, showing off images of the round console, and tagging it a price of $115, which makes it very affordable for people.

After the watch's announcement last September, this would be the first time seeing this device in action, and many are curious about how well it will do as it competes in the wearable technology category.

Most wearables have the Snapdragon by Qualcomm on board, while the ELE has MediaTek MT2601 dual-core Cortex-A7 chip clocked at up to 1.2GHz. Performance-wise, the gap between its chips should be minimal.

Other features of the ELE smartwatch, includes a water and dust resistant IP67, interchangeable wristbands, and a 400mAh battery life. The only unfortunate error seen on its specs is its 512mb RAM and its 4GB internal storage.

Watches are made to be fashionable and not to look like a remote control on people's wrists. The ELE's dimensions and its sleek design should make a difference on how people wear it. If the watch fares well against its competition, and people feel good about it, this could seriously stir the wearable market from where it is right now.

The ELE smartwatch seems to be well enough suited for this purpose and providing great value for the society as it comes with an affordable price. Unfortunately, this product would not be available in the Western regions. In reality, HK Elephone Communication Tech Co., Limited is still a startup when it comes to these kinds of technology. Tech hulks like Motorola and Samsung will always be in the spotlight despite the efforts.
