Google has made an overhaul in its user-interface design when it announced Material Design last year. Mountain View is also crowdsourcing suggestions for its next batch of illustrations that will come with the Calendar app.
The overhaul of Google with Android starting 5.0 Lollipop had proved to be an eye-catcher for users on the platform. Most importantly, the search engine giant has added a series of helpful illustrations to the Calendar app to highlight the user's planned activity. Now, Google wants to expand its feature by adding a dozen more illustrations for memorable events.
Last Friday, Google through the Official Gmail Blog has announced that the Calendar app will feature illustration improvements in two ways. The first one will be the addition of a series of illustrations about events such as weddings and timely parties such as Halloween parties and the like. As for the second update, the illustrations in the Calendar app will now appear in 30 languages, Dutch, Finnish, Catalan and Korean are some of the examples to give Google's global community of users a new way to celebrate their day.
In addition, Google has also started crowdsourcing suggestions for the Calendar app as it wants its user base to help in creating more illustrations. Interested users can join in the crowdsourcing program by tweeting a photo of an event that they like with the hash tag #makethemost. Google will be selecting their favourites as inspirations for the next set of Calendar illustrations.
