Group conversations and threads for teams have ever since been client specific. Although, there are several web messengers that would allow users to log in to their corresponding accounts so that they could participate in group conversations whenever a team meeting calls for it. Skype wants to make it easier for everyone that's using its platform by allowing its users to share conversation links that only takes a URL for anyone to join.
Skype has recently made the big announcement - a small change that's set to bring a huge difference to not only people who have signed in with Skype, but anyone that wants to be a part of the conversation. Now, users will be able to share a unique link that they can send through an email, on Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger or Twitter.
Anyone will be able to join the conversation as a guest from their devices through Skype's web messenger and join in a one on one or group instant messaging, voice, or video calls. It won't require its users to make an account or downloaded another app, all it takes is a web browser for messaging. Now, Skype users will be able to chat with anyone and just the people added in their Skype contact lists.
To start sharing conversations, users can click the +New in the latest version of Skype for Windows, Mac, or Web, then share the unique link generated to anyone. Receivers of the URL will simply need to click on the link to join the conversation.
Users can now start, share and join conversations from Skype for Windows, Skype for Mac, and Skype for Web in the United States and the United Kingdom, while guests can join in the conversation with Skype for Web. Additionally, users who have downloaded Skype on their smartphones can join in a conversation as well. The new update will start rolling out to the rest of the world in the following weeks to bring the ability to start a conversation and share a link from smartphones and tablets, too.
