EverythingMe Is Out

Israeli startup firm EverythingMe has established an Android launcher app with around 15 million installations worldwide. Even so, the startup had troubles translating this idea into working business plans ending up laying off 35 of its employees, concluding to a shutdown.

The Android launcher app will be gone for download at Google Play Store as soon as the firm officially closes. Even though the app itself had 15 million downloads on the Play Store, which is really something to brag about as a startup company, the company behind the app faced troubles on dealing with its creativity and putting it into reality.

The Israeli startup company was founded in 2010. Its founders managed to raise money for the company backed up by internet-known entity Mozilla. Also, Horizon Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson are among the investors backing up EverythingMe. Although having at least $35 from investments, the firm's inability to grow as a business happened to be a big issue to keep it alive and kicking in the app launcher business. In the process of its struggles, the company had to lay off 35 of their workers in order to survive but in the end shutting down.

The Android launcher app is a fairly simple application that gives additional options to download and play. The launcher facades the applications, contacts, locations, time, day, preferences and so on. All user-installed apps will remain on the phone. It will just be organized in a very nice way, like themes or skins to spice up a generic-looking smartphone.

Just like on iOS, folders will be made available at the home screen of generic Android phones, and the EverythingMe app manages the items based on what they are. If it is a gaming app, it will be relocated to a games folder. If it is a social media app, it will be placed under social media, and so on. On installation of the said app, there will appear a context bar on the home screen providing its users quick links, which the users accesses more often.

The Israeli-developed app claims to be the quickest and most personalized search tool for Android smartphones. Also, the Quick Contacts feature makes available people in user's address book with a swipe of a finger.

With an app as great as this, users of the app will be disheartened to hear that it will be saying its goodbyes. Although the app is still available for download and usage, it will disappear in the play store when the firm officially closes.
