Google has been serious in beefing up its gaming platform. Both in YouTube and Android, users can take advatange of the search engine giant's services to play and stream their games. The latest feature to be added in the platform now lets gamers from around the world to record and share their gaming sessions straight from their smartphones.
The latest update to Google Play Games, Google's gaming platform for connecting Android gamers with one another, brings its users the ability to easily record and share with other people their own best gaming footages from their Android games.
Through the Google Play Games app, users can select the game they want to record whenever they play. They can capture their gameplay in different resolutions including 720p and 480p, and they can also inject themselves to the video using their devices' front-facing camera and microphone for commentary and side tips. Whenever they finish recording, they can quickly edit their gaming footages and upload them straight to YouTube.
This new feature comes in handy for users that want to build their collection of classic game footages that would likely be missed and not have the chance to relive such moments. This is also very useful as it won't be incurring more data charges as they can simply wait to get home and upload their videos on their local data connection instead of expensive cellular data.
The update to the Google Play Games appears to be similar to the update that came to YouTube Gaming. Similar to the update to the Google Play Games, YouTube Gaming also allows its users to record and stream their games live directly from their smartphones and tablets. Google is first rolling out the update to the U.S. and the U.K. in the coming weeks and will follow to more countries soon after.
