The OnePlus X Is A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

The smartphone industry has grown rather exponentially since it first hit the mainstream a couple of years ago. Every month, a handset manufacturer or two will release a new smartphone that would add up to the plethora of offerings already in the market. At present, the variety of handsets and the unique features they have are basically abundant - that it's now getting difficult to pick the right device. Couple with the price and the decision just gets harder. However, OnePlus latest offering, the OnePlus X, might embody every user would require from an Android handset to make buying smartphones a much easier decision to make.

The OnePlus X has been one of the most anticipated smartphones ever since it first teased. Now that it's finally out, the competition may have just been disrupted. For starters, the 5-inch OnePlus X features a Snapdragon 801 chipset, which was seen in flagship of yesteryears such as the LG G3 and the Xperia Z3. It comes with 3 GB of RAM, and storage is somewhat on the midranged scheme of things at 16 GB. However, it's expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card so the storage shouldn't be too much of a problem. It carries a 2,525 mAh battery along with a support for two SIM cards should the user be on two networks.

In terms of photography, the OnePlus X features 13 MP primary shooter and an 8 MP snapper on the front side. However, it won't be featuring 4K video recording that the new line of Nexus devices have, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker nonetheless.

Also, the OnePlus X will come in two variants. There's an Onyx model that features a sheet of black glass on its back side. While the second version, a Ceramic model that would jack up the price a bit, will come in limited stocks.

OnePlus is asking only USD $249 for their latest smartphone as a start - it's not that big a price to pay considering its hardware specifications and design. However, similar to previous offerings from the company, the OnePlus X will also be invite-exclusive for now, so that would most likely make it difficult for interested users to buy one for themselves.
