Microsoft Is Now Accepting Beta Sign-Ups For Cortana On iPhone

Microsoft as of late has been offering its service in different platforms. Redmond's Office apps have seen light on both Android and iOS, the company's personal assistant, a new launcher for Android, and so much more. The latest from Microsoft this time around looks to bring Cortana to the iOS platform, giving iPhone users the chance to interact with the company's very own personal assistant just like what they did with Android.

Windows had begun embracing its cross-platform model back when it first released Office for the mobile platform. Fast forward to today and Redmond now has its personal digital assistant in both Android and iOS. The company has now opened its beta sign-ups for Cortana on iPhone, giving its users a feel of what the app is like on Android.

"Your life is not limited to one device, and neither is your digital assistant. Cortana is with you on your Windows 10 PC, tablet, and phone-helping you whenever and wherever you need it. But we also know that there's a choice of mobile devices out there, so we want help from our Windows Insiders to make sure she's a great personal assistant on iOS too," a post read by a Microsoft Support Engineer in the company's discussion page.

However, it retains the same limits Microsoft imposed for Cortana on Android. There was no voice activation for the personal digital assistant, and users won't be able to wake their devices at command as well. Although, it will be able to receive questions manually and add reminders for its users.

Those that would like to participate in the beta for Cortana on iPhone can start out by filling out a survey to sign-up. Afterwards, all that would be left to do is wait for its availability in the coming weeks. However, Microsoft is only looking for a limited number of people to try out an early version of the app, so it would be best to sign-up now should they want to be shortlisted for it.
