The Lumia lineup is soon to face a rebirth of Windows 10, and Microsoft has first unleashed its Lumia 950 and 950 XL to open the floodgates of the new Windows phone generation. Now, it looks like Redmond is preparing another addition to its portfolio of Windows phone devices as recent leaks of the Microsoft Lumia 850, also known as Honjo, has started surfacing online.
Microsoft Lumia 850 looks to belong in the upper midrange category based on the speculated hardware sheet. First, the handset is supposed to be equipped with a 5 inch 720p display, Snapdragon 410 chipset, 1 GB of RAM, and a 10 mp PureView snapper. However, according to a recent leak, it will now feature a 5.7 inch full HD display and a Snapdragon 617 chipset, making it more appropriate for the midrange segment where Lumia 850 would most likely shine.
Furthermore, a recent image leak from reputable leaker Evan Blass shows that Microsoft Lumia 850 features a front-facing flash as well. Also, the handset features minimal similarities with its supposed predecessor, Lumia 830. It's most likely to become a substitute as well. The signature sharp corners of the Lumia 800 series are also gone, and it's now replaced by more rounded ones according to the leaked image.
Also gone are the capacitive keys under the display, which means that the onscreen navigation won't be limited to the flagship Lumia devices. The hardware shutter button seems to be absent, which would most likely be a wanted feature should the renders hold true.
The newly leaked press renders also show that Lumia 850 will come with several color options. There's the white and gold combination that was shown from the previous leak, but there are also options for a rose gold trim with a white body and another black model that features steel trimmings.
