It's the natural order of things—each year comes a new Samsung Galaxy flagship, and the world keeps its eyes on the Android market leader to bring new innovative features to the next generation of its S line-up. As of today, the Samsung Galaxy S7 has been the subject of a wide number of leaks and speculations. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the purported handset will come with a pressure-sensitive display, also known as 3D Touch donned by Apple's latest duo of iPhones.
According to the sources of Wall Street Journal, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will likely follow the lead of Apple with their iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, and Huawei's Mate S for the pressure-sensitive display. Similar to Apple's panel, the Galaxy S7 will feature what Cupertino is currently offering with their display technology. While that will take until several months for confirmation, the South Korean tech giant will most likely apply the feature on top of the TouchWiz UI.
However, pressure-sensitive display isn't only what Samsung has up in its sleeve. Further reports suggest that the Galaxy S7 will also feature a high-speed USB Type-C charging port similar to other flagships that have also been equipped with the same feature. Samsung equipped their Galaxy Note III with a USB 3.0 port first, and will most likely be having a USB Type-C charging port for the Galaxy S7.
Furthermore, Samsung will also add a retina scanner to the Galaxy S7. This would most likely add an extra layer of protection on top of the fingerprint scanner security that has already been added to the previous iterations of Samsung's flagships.
Finally, Samsung will keep the Galaxy S7 close to its predecessor, although there will be a change in the camera unit. Reports suggest that it will not protrude on the Galaxy S7, but recent leaks have shown that it will still do so.
