Chinese handset manufacturer OnePlus has easily made its mark in the world of mobility with their supercharged smartphones that carry very appealing price tags. However, getting one of their handsets is difficult as the company's signature invite-exclusive system has always been applied to their devices' availabilities. That may soon change now as the company is opening one of its smartphones, the OnePlus X to consumers even without their famed invite-exclusive system.
Starting Tuesday, customers who want to nab the OnePlus X will be able to acquire one even if they haven't received an invitation yet. However, the device's availability will only come in limited quantity, and OnePlus is only opening them every Tuesday. Customers who are not included in the list will have to wait for a week to get one.
The news came right after OnePlus took to Twitter to announce that the OnePlus X becoming invite-free every Tuesday. "OnePlus X Open Sales Every Tuesday," reads the text on the image tweeted.
OnePlus has received criticisms over its invite-only system, and it has been the same case for all of the three smarthpones the company has launched so far. Despite of the criticisms, OnePlus sticked to the ever-dreaded invite-exclusive system for their handsets. This time around however, marks the first opportunity for customers to openly buy the OnePlus X outside the three-day sale, which was open to everyone recently.
The OnePlus X has been a defined crowd pleaser because of its hardware specs sheet and highly appealing price point. It comes with a 5-inch 1080p touchscreen display, the venerable Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with 3GB of RAM, 13MP primary camera with LED flash and 8MP selfie snapper, 16GB of internal storage, and a hefty 2,525mAh of battery.
