Get 20 Per Cent Off For New Game Releases With Amazon Prime

Year 2016 would seem to have a pretty good start for hard-core gamers and enthusiasts who also happen to be Amazon Prime subscribers. According to reports, the e-commerce giant is offering a whopping 20 per cent discount to all Prime members on all preorders and new game releases. The news came yesterday.

The window for newly released titles, as per Amazon's definition, will come two weeks after a game title's launch. The deal will be valid for physical copies of the game, and special editions are also in effect of the discount. However, it's important to note that while there are also new game releases in package, the discount won't be applied to console bundles. Furthermore, customers won't be able to see the discount until they proceed checking out with their orders. The e-commerce giant is applying the discount to all preorders made by Prime subscribers.

The deal also appears to be a permanent offer within the Amazon Prime subscription, so customers won't have to rush in and go on a preorder spree to purchase new games. According to reports, the e-commerce's offering works in competition with Best Buy's Game Club Unlocked programme, which offers several perks to its subscribers that include 20 per cent off of purchases on new game titles.

Amazon has been offering a comprehensive package for its Prime membership. For US$99 per year, users can enjoy perks such as the company's Prime Video service, Prime Music service, Prime Photos and a free two-day shipping on most orders from its massive catalogue of goods.

There are loads of great games to watch out this year -- Dark Souls III, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, No Man's Sky, Street Fighter V, Final Fantasy XV and a whole lot more. For gamers who want such titles or their special editions at a discounted price, the latest offering by Amazon could net them bigger savings.
