The success of Apple's recently launched iPhone SE has prompted several smartphone manufacturers to go in for small-screened handsets. As a result, the market may soon be flooded with handsets imitating the iPhone SE. In fact, Amazon has already launched a 2.4-inch Android handset with low-end specs.
While Apple's iPhone SE comes with a 4-inch screen display, it incorporates most of the other premium specs and features of the Cupertino tech titan's flagship device, iPhone 6S. Contrary to this, one cannot expect the smaller-screened smartphones from other manufacturers to offer us such amazing specs, Phone Arena reported.
The Posh Mobile Micro X S240 launched by Amazon is a case in point. This Android-run handset features a 2.4-inch screen. In fact, the display screen of this handset is much smaller compared to the 2.81-inch screen of the 2007's LG Voyager feature phone.
Nothing like the strong hardware on the iPhone SE, the remaining specifications of the Posh Mobile Micro X S240 will give you a feeling as if Marty McFly is going back in time. The handset is powered by a MediaTek MT 6572M SoC along with a dual-core 1GHz CPU, and incorporates 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. In addition, it comes with a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is less powerful compared to the 3.2-megapixel shooter on 2008's LG Dare, and a VGA 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. The device accommodates just a 650mAh battery, while it comes with Android 4.4 out-of-the-box.
Since Posh Mobile Micro X S240 - described as the smallest Android phone in the world - comes with a 2.4-inch display, it doesn't help the user to load up the home screen with many app icons. Nevertheless, the basic apps, such as gallery, web browser, music and others can be displayed on the home screen. Even typing on such a small screen may prove to be challenging for many users, BGR reported.
As far as the pricing is concerned, Posh Mobile Micro X S240 is available from Amazon in black for only $52.55, denoting a 42% price reduction from the standard $89.99. One can also purchase the blue, pink or white variants for $49.99, a 44% cut in price.
