Sony Xperia X Premium To Feature 23-Megapixels Camera And HDR Display With 1.07-Billion Color Depth

Sony Xperia X's 23-megapixels updated camera will feature predictive object tracking and the Xperia X Premium device is rumored to come with a HDR display offering 1.07-billion color depth.

Sony's camera sensors are not only found in its own phones, but also in devices manufactured by its rivals across the industry according to CNET. Sony made remarkable advancements in miniaturizing camera sensors without affecting their quality. The Japanese high-tech giant is considered the maker of some of the best mobile camera tech.

The main focus of the new Sony Xperia X is its great specs in the camera department which was announced at the Mobile World Congress in February. The upcoming phone will come with a software that can anticipate the subject's next move. The predictive autofocus feature is designed to capture with no blur to any moving object in focus.

The same publication reports that for the Xperia X's cameras Sony has packed high-tech that gives the phone a very competitive edge. Besides the impressive 23-megapixels rear camera, Sony also integrated a great front-facing camera in its upcoming Xperia X. Its f2.0 image sensor is 2.6 times larger than the one in the Z5 Premium and the resolution has been increased up to 13 megapixels. This translates in a much finer texture in bright daylight.

The publication PhoneArena reports on rumors claiming that the Xperia X Premium will join the Xperia XA, Xperia X and Xperia X Performance line. The stand-out feature of the Xperia X Premium would be an impressive 1300 nits output of maximum brightness and a 5.5-inch 'Whitemagic' LCD display with 1080p resolution.

The world's first High Dynamic Range (HDR) smartphone screen featured by the rumored Xperia X Premium would come with a color depth of 1.07 billion colors. Xperia X Premium's screen is likely the product of a partnership between Japan Display Incorporated and Sony.

According to rumors, the new HDR screen technology will be able to paint RGB colors with up to 1024 shades each. It is speculated that the new screen will achieve a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and feature a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The Xperia X Premium seems to be Sony's most ambitious handset ever. The company did not confirm the rumors yet. There has been no word of a release date and potential price points.
