Xiaomi Prepares To Enter Global Market With Mi Smartwatch

Xiaomi is preparing to unveil its new Mi Smartwatch in the second quarter of the year, according to the latest reports.

According to Android Community, Xiaomi is planning to launch this year several quality products, including MIUI 8 chipset, the Xiaomi Max and a Xiaomi UnionPay mobile payment service.

Late last year, Xiaomi entered the wearable gadgets market with the Mi Band 1S. According to GizmoChina, aside from the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, now the company is preparing to launch the Mi Smartwatch.

The Xiaomi Mi smartwatch is something anticipated for long, since a few years ago. But now guessing and speculations are over, as Xiaomi's VP Liu De confirmed during an event in Beijing that the company has almost readied its Mi Smartwatch.

Xiaomi's Smartwatch is expected to be unveiled this second quarter. For now not many details are known yet, but according to some design leaks and rumors, the new Mi Smartwatch will feature a metal rugged design with a round dial akin to Apple Watch.

Huami, the company that makes the Mi Band, announced that the two products will be out this Q2. Aside from the kids' smartwatch and the Mi band, another wearable product could make watch shopping even more confusing. But compared to the popular wearables in the market today, the Xiaomi Mi Smartwatch should be more affordable.

The wearable gadgets industry has already been established. Now the companies and OEMs are striving to make the wearable more accessible and affordable for more people.

According to DazeInfo, Xiaomi will make its debut on the global smartwatch market with its Mi wearable gadget. The interest of the company in the industry of wearable devices can be attributed to the success of Mi Band.

Last year, Xiaomi's Mi Band monthly sales have exceeded 1 million and annual sales exceeded 10 million units. Now the company trails behind Apple and Fitbit only, and these figures show the strengthening market presence of Xiaomi in the wearable devices segment.
