Google Nexus 7 2016: May 18 Developers Conference Possible Release Date

Google Nexus 7 2016 is among the highly anticipated smartphones this year. Rumor has it that the search engine giant might release the phone on May 18, at the annual Developers Conference event.

It holds true that Google has been working on delivering a new look for the most talked about Nexus 7. In fact, many believed that its specs will be more robust than the ones in the market today. But then again, the question is, when it will arrive?

According to International Business Times, Google Nexus 7 2016 is likely to be unleashed during the upcoming Developers Conference. The event is slated to happen on May 18 to May 22. Sure, previous Nexus smartphones have been released in October, but there is always the possibility of Google releasing Nexus 7 2016 a bit early than expected.

Also, there are speculations that the said smartphone will be showcased along with an Android operating system called Android N. It is worth noting that the search provider unveiled its second Androind N Developer Preview specifically for the members of the Android Beta Program.

Yibada notes that Nexus 7 2016 will have key features, such as a 7-inch or 15.1-inch screen display and a Snapdragon 820 chipset. The phone is also expected to consist of NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor along with a RAM of 4GB.

Moreover, Google Nexus 7 2016 might be the very first mobile phone to feature an external storage of 2TB (via microSD) -- something that previous Nexus phones did not have. As for the camera features, it will be packed with a 12MP back camera as well as a 5PM front-facing camera. These vigorous hardware specifications will be backed by a battery of 3,000mAh.

The upcoming Nexus device is believed to be a tablet or, as others commonly say, phablet. And with its Android N operating system, the smartphone certainly has a revolutionary software specs for optimized utilization.

As of this writing, Google has yet to announce an official release date of Nexus 7 2016.
