Next-Gen Acura NSX Supercar Hits Markets

The original Acura NSX was first launched in the early 1990s, with less than 10,000 units sold between its release until 2005. A little over 10 years after, the next-generation Acura NSX gets a nicer upgrade.

Yahoo! News reports on the high-end mods that the new Acura NSX showcases today. Though a little over twice the amount from its predecessor at $157,800, the Acura NSX is a force to reckon with.

Fitted with a twin-turbo V6 engine plus three electric motors, the next-gen Acura NSX's powertrain gives off a combined 573 hp. Not far behind its top competitors, the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918, which top-bill at almost a million in value each.

Field tests on the new Acura NSX is like playing a game of superfast cars. The NSX's torque muscle action generates speed for its wheels, which in turn stabilize the car's sharp turns. This action allows the driver to do a quick accelerator push.

Other inviting aspects that goes with the next-gen Acura NSX would be that of its highly functional design and low-noise quality. A little heavy on the side (at 3,803 lbs), the Acura's audio graphics makes it quite a steal, though.

In other related news, Autoweek reported on Clarion Builds' latest project: giving a first-gen Acura NSX a makeover. The car the group got it hands on was a bargain it got off a Craigslist ad.

The car stereo manufacturer said that before the modification, it had already registered around 250K of mileage. Clarion Builds restores these great cars as well as add their high-performance Clarion infotainment system.

Clarion Builds Program director and VP of marketing and product planning Allen Gharapetian said that Clarion Builds takes on and proceeds with car restoration projects for car enthusiasts. The company goes for cars that are known for their timeless performance, iconic designs and a great history about them, added Gharapetian.
