Just a few days after Chinese regulatory authorities announced the Mi Max, Xiaomi itself has announced its biggest phone ever. The Mi Max will be launched to the Chinese market on May 17.
Fans around the globe have excitingly received Xiaomi's official unveiling of the Mi Max. The device just passed TENAA, the telecommunications equipment certification authority in China, prior to the unveiling event on Tuesday, May 10.
According to The Verge, the company's 6.44-inch phone has a 7.5 mm body that still fits your pocket. Xiaomi's Mi Max is powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 or 652 processor at 1.4 GHz. The phone is also equipped with the Adreno 510 CPU.
Tech Times reports that, according to GFXBench listings, the Mi Max's huge 6.44-inch display provides a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Two versions of the phone will be available on the market. The first will provide 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM and the second will come with 32GB ROM and 3GB RAM.
Despite its thin frame, the phone fits in a large 4850mAh battery. The Mi Max features a 5MP front-facing camera unit, a 16MP back-facing camera and includes a fingerprint sensor.
Other features included are GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, GLONASS and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Xiaomi is also expected to announce soon its latest version of Android called MIUI8.
Based on storage capacity and processor options, the phone it is priced from 1,499 to 1,999 yuan ($229 to $306). Each model comes in choices of grey, gold or silver colors.
According to reports, previously Xiaomi has also planned to launch the Mi Band 2 fitness tracker alongside the Mi Max. However, because of manufacturing-related issues, the company has decided to postpone the announcement of the wearable. According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the official unveiling of its next Mi Band will come after at least a month-long delay.
