‘Titanfall 2’ News: EA Announces Q4 2016 Game Release, Confirmed For EA Play Appearance

The highly anticipated sequel to the first "Titanfall" game will soon make its way to video game shelves. EA (Electronic Arts) has recently announced that "Titanfall 2" has been set for a Q4 2016 release.

The gaming company made the announcement on Tuesday, May 10, as part of its latest financial earnings report, according to Gamespot. EA stated in its report that "Titanfall 2" has been slated for a third quarter release during the company's fiscal year. For EA, that said period covers the October to December 2016 timeline.

Apart from "Titanfall 2," several game titles have also been scheduled to launch during the last quarter of the year, as stated in the same report. The much-awaited "Battlefield 1" has been set for release on Oct. 21. When EA CEO Andrew Wilson was asked during an investors' conference call about the proximity of the release dates for the two games, he explained that the company feels "very confident" that both games will attract a lot of interest from avid first-person shooting game fans.

"We feel we actually have a really strong position to deliver the broadest set of gameplay mechanics as it relates to [the] first-person shooter genre across the two titles," Wilson stated. He also commented on the positive reception that "Battlefield 1" has received. The EA executive even described the interest surrounding "Titanfall 2" as an "energy" that has been "building very nicely." Wilson also confirmed that both game titles will be included in the company's upcoming EA Play event.

The said event is set to happen in London and Los Angeles in June, as stated in an April announcement posted on EA's website. The EA Play will feature some of the gaming company's upcoming new game titles that includes both "Titanfall 2" and "Battlefield 1," as well as three titles from EA's Sports line-up. The London event dubbed "PLAY London" will happen on June 12. In America, EA's "PLAY LA" will start on June 12 until June 14.

The upcoming EA Play events will also be open to both media, gaming industry professionals and the public. Fans can also witness EA's press conference and some EA Play behind-the-scenes footage through EA.com in June.

Meanwhile, "Titanfall 2" will be released in various consoles such as Xbox One, Playstation 4, as well as the PC.
