The beta stage for "Overwatch" has closed its doors, as the official game is nearing its launching date. However, based on the open beta reviews, it seems Blizzard needs to do some final touches prior to the release. Meanwhile, fans will be happy knowing that the game will soon have its own cinematics and short animations.
Since the release of the first "Overwatch" closed alpha, a lot of gamers have fallen in love with the game's exciting system and overall gameplay. In fact, people even reportedly spent most of their weekends playing Blizzard's titular multiplayer first-person shooter game.
Now, the official game is about to be released on May 24 this year, which is less than two weeks' time from now. While the beta version has proven to be packed with all the potentials it needs, Blizzard might as well opt in tweaking some characters beforehand.
According to Forbes, the video game developer based in California should re-examine three heroes, namely, Zenyatta, Bastion and Symmetra. First, Zenyatta's HP pool is a little bit small while his mobility is underdeveloped. That if only these aspects are enhanced, getting one-shot hit from the likes of Hanzo or Widowmaker will not really be a problem.
Second, Bastion, albeit being an interesting "Overwatch" character, lacks some intensity, making him a boring hero to play with. While accomplishing a major overhaul for Bastion is a shot to the Moon given the two-week timeline, his 360-degree spin ability should be removed and that a well-entrenched Bastion should be replaced.
Lastly, Symmetra's issues are her ability to draw out shield as well as her main weapon. Although her shielding ability is quite useful in one way or another, it is still a boring skill to have. But if Blizzard could tweak it and make it passive, it can be used in a lot of ways -- one of which is for, say, a mobility-related technique.
In related news, Coke eSports will be bringing "Overwatch" -- in the form of cinematics and animations -- into the big screen, as reported by VG247. The videos will center on the game's lore, but in order for fans to see them, they have to purchase tickets from participating theaters starting May 12.
Interested fans can go straight to the game's Celebration site, which has the full list of showings across the country. The tickets are said to be sold at $10.
"Overwatch" is slated for a May 24 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
