'Final Fantasy Brave Exvius' News: Mobile 'Final Fantasy' Game Gearing Up For Western Release

A "Final Fantasy" mobile game will soon be heading to the West with "Final Fantasy Brave Exvius" set for launch outside of Japan. The game's Western release has been scheduled for summer and will be available for free for Android and iOS devices.

Square Enix and Gumi Inc. announced on Monday, May 16, that the mobile game "Final Fantasy Brave Exvius" has been given a target Western release date, Gamespot reports. Owners of Android and iOS devices may download the game for free when it hits online stores in summer.

Pre-registration for the upcoming "Final Fantasy" mobile game is already open at finalfantasyexvius.com. Players who would pre-register will be able to enjoy "special in-game items." However, details of these items were not disclosed.

In a statement, Gumi mentioned that the "Final Fantasy Brave Exvius" mobile game will provide an "entirely new role-playing adventure for the mobile generation," as indicated in the same report. The said turn-based role-playing mobile game also appears to be one of the popular titles in Japan. It has reportedly reached 6 million downloads in Japan.

Avid "Final Fantasy" fans would also encounter familiar faces in the upcoming "Final Fantasy Brave Exvius" mobile game. Characters from previous "Final Fantasy" titles are featured in the said mobile game. These characters include the Warrior of Light, Cecil, Terra and Vivi. Newbie "Final Fantasy" players will also find the game "easy to pick-up," as stated in the same report.

The mobile game revolves around the adventures of two knights from the kingdom of Grandshelt. A "Final Fantasy Brave Exvius" trailer posted on Eurogamer has revealed the names of the two knights, namely Rain and Lasswell. The two protagonists then meet a young girl named Fina. The game characters' quest also involves crystals and a battle to "drive back the shadows," as indicated in the clip.

Players outside of Japan can enjoy "Final Fantasy Brave Exvius" in summer 2016. Square Enix will also feature the said mobile game in its upcoming E3 booth from June 14 until June 16.
