OnePlus 3 Rumors: CEO Says Device ‘Feels Good To Hold,’ To Be Made Official On May 28

If a recent post by OnePlus CEO Liu Zouhu aka Pete Lau on the Chinese social media website Weibo is any indication, the Chinese smartphone maker is expected to release its next-gen handset soon. In his post, Zhou wrote that the upcoming OnePlus 3 "feels good to hold."

Incidentally, Zhou's comment came just a day after famous tipster Evan Blass or @evleaks posted an image of the purported OnePlus 3 on his Twitter page.

In terms of the external features of the OnePlus 3, which is expected to be made official on May 28, the device is expected to come with a 5-inch LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. It will possibly boast 16M colors and 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution with 441 ppi pixel density. In addition, OnePlus 3 will come with multi-touch option and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 to protect screen against scratches, GSM Arena reported.

Under the hood, the handset is likely to be powered by Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset and a dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo CPU. It will run on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with Adreno 530 GPU.

According to rumors, OnePlus 3 is likely to come in two variants -- a standard model with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage as well as a high-end model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. However, neither of these two models will offer external memory support.

Both variants of OnePlus 3 will boast superior cameras, PC Advisor reported. The primary rear camera will be of 16 megapixels along with features like f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus and optical image stabilization. The camera will also include 1/2.6 sensor, 1.3 µm pixels, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama mode, face-detection and HDR option. The dual-LED flash of the camera would make it possible to take better images even in poor lighting conditions.

On the other hand, the front-facing camera of OnePlus 3 will be of 8 megapixels and will come with f/2.0, 1080p resolution, which is excellent for taking selfies.

In addition, OnePlus 3 will feature fingerprint reader, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyro and compass in addition to barometer. The device will accommodate a non-removable, 3,000 mAH battery unit.
