Teaser Video Hints At The Return Of The Iconic Motorola Razr Flip Phone

The iconic Razr flip phone from Motorola may potentially return in a slightly new and sleeker avatar, as hinted by a new teaser video posted by the company on YouTube.

According to The Telegraph, the Motorola Razr was trendy way before the iPhone. The flip phone model was released in 2004. At that time, the Razr became a fashion icon due to its revolutionary design and it was promoted by celebrities such as David Beckham.

The Razr became one of the 10 most popular mobile phones of all time and the world's bestselling flip phone. With a 2.2-inch screen and 0.3 megapixel camera, despite and being underpowered compared to today's mobiles, it still evokes fond memories.

There is good news for those nostalgic for the simpler times of text messages, flip phones and WAP. In a teaser video uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, May 19, Motorola has hinted that the Razr could make a comeback. The video shows a group of American high school students using their Razr phones.

It is clear the YouTube video teases the possibility that Motorola is preparing a new version of the Moto Razr flip phone. All the students in the video seem to be using the Razr, and the flip phone from Motorola seems to be everywhere.

The cryptic message of the video, according to Tech Times, encourages people to "flip back to the Razr days of yesteryear and get ready for the future." The header "Moto 06.09.16" accompanies the 45-second teaser video from Motorola Mobility. This suggests that Motorola Mobility is preparing to release a new flip phone on June 9, 2016.

The video ends with the Motorola logo accompanied by the above mentioned date and the message "TTYL." While the video gives a good glimpse into the 2016 variant of the Razr handset, it is still unclear what new features the flip phone will house.
