'Overwatch' Tips: Loot Boxes, Credits & Coins

"Overwatch" has been a resounding success across platforms since its release. However, one thing Blizzard did not make clear is how to earn currency within the game. So, how in the world can you earn gold "Overwatch" credits?

By now, Loot Boxes should be familiar to most players. These goodies are earned through game progression. This means that it would be practically impossible for players to farm "Overwatch" Loot Boxes and "Overwatch" credits, Attack of the Fanboy noted.

However, there are a couple of ways to get around it. The first is that "Overwatch" Loot Boxes can be bought with real-world cash. However, this does not guarantee that the Loot Boxes will contain credits. Another way to receive credits in the game would be with duplicate cosmetic items.

There are four levels of rarity for Loot Boxes. The white ones are common and are worth 50 coins. Blue ones are rare and contain 100 coins. Purple Loot Boxes are epic and give 150 coins. Lastly, Legendary Loot Boxes, the gold ones, contain 500 coins, Shack News reported. If you are lucky enough to get credits in the Loot Boxes, then good for you!

The other way to get credits is with duplicate items. Loot Boxes also contain cosmetic items that improve the gaming experience of "Overwatch," such as voice clips, victory poses, tags and much more. As Loot Boxes are earned through progression, there are chances of getting duplicates. These are then converted to credits which you can use to purchase the stuff you really want.

Items players can purchase vary wildly in price. Some items are worth a relatively easy 75 credits. Other items cost an astronomical 1000 credits. The role that luck plays in the Loot Boxes gives another dimension of difficulty and appreciation to "Overwatch." Since the game's credits are pretty much hard to come by, it might be better to keep fingers crossed whenever a Loot Box is opened.

Overwatch is available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
