Asus just announced at Computex 2016 a Surface killer clone in the form of the Transformer 3 Pro.
According to CNet, Asus Transformers 3 Pro is portable, slim and packed with power. The laptop resembles to Microsoft's Surface Pro not only in name but it also have some common features such as kickstand, detachable keyboard and pen.
An Intel Core i7 processor provides the power on the top of the range, while basic models come equipped with an Intel Core i5. The laptop provides up to 16GB of RAM running at 2133mHz and an SSD drive offers an impressive 1TB of storage.
Transformer 3 Pro comes equipped with a Thunderbolt 3 port for connectivity. It also features reversible USB Type-C connector with USB 3.1 support for transfer speeds up to 40Gbps, a USB 3.0 and HDMI port. The laptop supports dual external 4K UHD displays.
Asus' new laptop measures 11.7 by 8.3 by 0.3 inches (299 by 210 by 8.5 mm) and weights 1.7 lbs (795 g). The 12.6-inch display provides 275ppi pixel density, 2,880 x 1,920-pixel resolution and gamut of 121 percent sRGB color space.
According to the website tech.firstpost.com, the latest entrant in the Transformer Series by Asus comes in a 2-in-1 PC form factor. The device is crafted from aluminum, and it will be available in Glacier Gray and Gorgeous Icicle Gold colors.
The form factor of Asus Trasformer 3 Pro closely resembles that of the Surface Pro series. The laptop comes with Asus Transformer Cover Keyboard. The backlit accessory features laptop-grade keys available in Amber, Charcoal, Stone and Taupe colors.
Transformer Pro 3 comes with a front-facing Windows Hello facial-recognition-enabled camera and a 13MP rear camera. Various accessories can be added to enhance and add flexibility to its operations, including the Asus Universal Dock and the Asus Pen.
Overall, this is a well-equipped 2-in-1 PC that emulates the features and specs of the cutting-edge Microsoft Surface Pro. However, Asus' laptop will come at a lower price tag than its rival device from Microsoft.
