There have been lots of talks about Microsoft's Xbox Two, which, until now, is yet to receive an official release date. But much to the dismay of the people, the tech giant is instead pursuing the so-called "Project Scorpio." However, rumors suggest that this could actually be the highly anticipated console in disguise.
It holds true that Microsoft is planning to release an upgrade for Xbox One -- the "Project Scorpio," that is. In fact, it is slated for a 2017 release, only with no specific date. The said project, which is deemed to be Xbox Two, is said to have the quadrupled power of the current console. And not just that, it will feature a massive performance level of six megaflops.
According to PC World, the upcoming "Project Scorpio" could actually be Xbox Two, the powerful successor to the current console that fans have been waiting for. Although it remains to be unknown, many deem it as the next-generation Xbox console that Microsoft will release sooner or later.
Reports suggest that Scorpio, in one way or another, may have the capability to render VR (virtual reality) simulations. But still, Microsoft has yet to reveal any information about releasing a VR headset that will go up against Oculus Rift.
If Microsoft is to release a brand-new console (perhaps, the Xbox Two), it is actually feasible, considering that such move will be a game changer in the market. Geek reports that Xbox One, in one way or another, is having a hard time reaching greater heights. One is the fact that Microsoft's console, despite selling roughly 20 million units, fares relatively less to the 40 million figure of PlayStation 4.
But of course, just because a new console (Xbox Two) will be released, it does not always reciprocate better sales; hence, the company must exert a good amount of effort in development and tech-wise. Whether or not Scorpio is indeed the rumored successor console, only time can tell.
