Recent news and updates pertaining to space, planets and galaxies have revealed a new discovery on Pluto. It appears that a glowing spot was hovering the dwarf planet based on NASA images seen. Also, some have even speculated that aliens are the culprit, but that theory is debunked, too.
Little by little, the world is slowly showcasing its secrets, and even the universe does it as well. NASA's New Horizons snapped this photo of sunlight streaming through Pluto's haze during the spacecraft's close approach on July 14, 2015. But as researchers took a closer look at the photo, a question emerged regarding a weird glowing patch, according to Gizmodo.
The glowing patch measures over 10 miles across. And as it hovers around Pluto's lower atmosphere, some researchers are theorizing that it could be a cloud reflecting sunlight. Nevertheless, a cloud is still something very exceptional when it is over Pluto, and this would be the first cloud spotted in photos from the New Horizons haul, reports the same post.
Some have even theorized that it could be the aliens' own doing, but that alien theory is debunked and ruled out by the researchers, according to Deccan Chronicle.
Theories have already surfaced on the possibility of cloud formation in Pluto. It appears that Pluto's environment is amenable to the formation of methane clouds. But since these are just theories, no one can really tell for now.
The images seen are clear indicators of how big and mysterious the universe is.
