Without a doubt, fans have since been longing for "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" from WayForward Technologies to be released. After all, the game was first announced way back in 2013 -- almost 3 years since. Well, it seems the game is on its way to finally becoming a reality, as the official release date has been rolled out!
According to Hardcore Gamer, after some ups and downs, "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" is almost 100 percent complete. The game's development phase is nearing its end; thus, WayForward opted to announce the upcoming title's official release date.
Announcing via Twitter, the studio revealed that "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" will hit the market come Sep. 27 this year and can be purchased at $29.99. With the publishing contract with XSEED Games, the game's physical copies will come to PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Wii U.
The digital launch will happen across North America and will include a bonus music CD all for the aforementioned price. Moreover, "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" is expected to be made available for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
It is worth noting that this will be the fourth installment in the studio's tentpole franchise. It made waves across the globe when it was first announced for crowdfunding in Kickstarter -- and yes, it turned out to be successful. And as soon as the game hits, it will be the first in the series to debut on home consoles.
As of this writing, little has been known about the game's main story. However, according to We Got This Covered, "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" is said to still include a sidescrolling action feature as well as in-game explorations that the previous installments have introduced.
Furthermore, "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" will come with a rehashed graphical design as well as a reportedly hand-drawn character art. In fact, the solid pixel art in the past will be replaced with polygonal environments.
"Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" is now available for pre-order via GameStop.
