'Final Fantasy 12's International Edition To Get HD PS4 Version

Needless to say, "Final Fantasy 12" was launched way back in 2006 for PlayStation 2. And it seems that all the rumors are true, as Square Enix is set to release a remastered version for the said installment. It will be titled "Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age" and will come to PS4 some time next year.

According to Eurogamer, the studio broke the news via YouTube, uploading a trailer that showcases the revamped for the hit 2006 PlayStation 2 title. Interestingly, the "Final Fantasy 12" remastered version will be developed based on the game's International Edition and will be released for PS4.

It should be noted that the aforementioned edition was not made available outside of Japan. Not only did it introduce a seemingly different combat format but it also featured the so-called Zodiac job system.

As for "Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age" version, fans can expect overhauled cutscenes and character models, shorter loading times, auto saves and a well-improved turbo mode. Moreover, the original game's score has been recorded again, though the remastered "Final Fantasy 12" will still feature the original soundtrack.

Initially, "Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age" was announced for a 2017 release in the Land of the Rising Sun. However, as reported by Kotaku, the Square Enix studio in North America has just confirmed the game's western release, which is also slated for next year.

As of this writing, "Final Fantasy 12" remastered version is expected to arrive on PS4. Beyond that, the company did not reveal further availability of the game to other consoles. But, of course, fans can expect Square Enix to release timely updates.

"Final Fantasy 12" became a huge hit, thanks to brilliant designer Yasumi Matsuno, who introduced the realm of Ivalice. Furthermore, the interesting MMO-ish combat system is one of the main reasons why the installment remains to be a favorite even up to this day.
