Microsoft was set to release their hybrid laptop, The Surface Pro 5, by the third quarter of this year, but experts are now saying that it could be moved to the fourth quarter. The 2-in-1 device is sure to be worth it, however, if reports prove to be true.
News Everyday notes that the portable PC, which will be Microsoft's flagship 2-in-1 unit, will have a 4K UHD display with 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution and is rumored to come with 32GB of RAM. It will also have a card slot for a micro SD, which will serve as the external storage.
Furthermore, the hybrid device is expected to have an audio jack, a Mini DisplayPort for video connections and will come with an improved surface pen.Markus Weickenmeier, brand manager of Microsoft, recently commented on the surface pen specifically.
"We believe creativity will strike at any moment," he said. "You'll want to know your pen is going to work without having to plug it in to charge it first."
What will truly set the gadget apart is the use of Intel's Kaby Lake Processor, which is so new it has not even been released yet. According to Techno Buffalo, the 7th-generation Core Chip will reportedly be released later on in the year. Hopefully, this will give Microsoft enough time to release the Surface Pro 5 by the end of 2016.
Amping it up from the Surface Pro 4, Microsoft is also enhancing the battery life of their fifth generation device by sporting a large battery unit, which will reportedly last for more than 10 hours. The Surface Pro 5 will also come with a fingerprint scanner board, which had to be separately purchased for the unit's predecessor.
Other sources are claiming that the Surface Pro 5 will not be ready for public sale until next year. The delay is due to other projects that are set for release, such as Microsoft's Surface Book 2 and two variants of the Windows 10 Mobile-powered Surface Phone.
