New Toyota Corolla Hybrid Price, Specs and Efficiency: The Cheapest New Hybrid Model In Australia’s Corolla Lineup?

The Toyota Corolla hybrid hatch focuses on handling, affordability and fuel economy. The new Corolla Hybrid will join Australia's Toyota Corolla lineup with a respectable 1,000 kilometers of driving range.

According to Carscoops, the Corolla Hybrid will be offered at a price of US$19,940 (AU$26,9990) in Australia. This hybrid ride's dependable Hybrid Synergy Drive unit combines a 60kW electric drive motor and 1.8L inline-four Atkinson cycle petrol combustion engine for 134 horsepower total system output.

The Corolla Hybrid has front wheel drive and is controlled with an electronic CVT. It can run using its gas or electric engine modes alone. The Corolla Hybrid also can use both engines at the same time wherein three drive mode selections are available: electric, economy and power.

Despite its 45-liter fuel tank, the new Toyota Corolla Hybrid increased its driving range to 1,197 kilometers or 382 miles. Its fuel consumption is also rated by far as excellent in the hybrid segment with 57.37 MPG for combined city/highway driving.

Available in one trim, the Corolla Hybrid picks up its premium feel from the top-tier ZR model. The Corolla Hybrid is the fifth hybrid ride in the carmaker's lineup which comprises the Prius, Prius v, Prius c and Camry.

The new Corolla Hybrid that will be available in Australia will be enhanced with a number of driver-focused features which include double-wishbone rear suspension, as well as capable handling and stability, according to Gizmodo.

It will also be fitted with larger ventilated front discs, a hybrid display which shows the instrument cluster and electronically controlled brakes.

The Corolla Hybrid will also have auto-levelling bi-LED headlamps, dual-zone automatic temperature control, keyless smart entry and LED running lights.

Included also in the Corolla Hybrid offering are standard features like satellite navigation, a 4.2-inch thin-film multi-information display, SUNA live traffic information and Toyota Link mobile integration.

According to Tony Cramb, executive director for Toyota Australia's sales and marketing department, "Corolla hybrid offers Australian motorists all the advantages of the world's all-time best-selling car and the world's best-selling hybrid technology."

Other features for the newest Corolla Hybrid include reverse cameras, 16-inch alloy wheels, eight available exterior paint colors, seven airbags, black fabric upholstery and anti-skid brakes.
