In just two months, Huawei has managed to sell 2.6 million of its P9 and P9 Plus mobile units, the latter being the larger phablet option. The Chinese company is truly starting to solidify its standing as a serious smart phone manufacturer, using practicality and necessity without sacrificing any of the most modern technology.
Know Your Mobile argues that what has truly set the P9 and P9 Plus apart is the incorporation of a dual-lens camera, which was co-developed with Leica. The flagship units are a great leap up from their predecessor, the P8. Huawei boasts a 100% speed increase, but there is definitely more to it than that.
The P9 is 145mm x 70.9 mm x 6.95 mm and sports a display of 5.2in with a 1920×1080-pixel resolution at 423ppi. The storage of the unit is 32GB or 64GB, and comes with support for a microSD card up to 128GB, with a 3GB or 4GB RAM. The front camera is 8MP and the rear is 12MP, and the unit comes in Rose Gold, Prestige Gold, Titanium Grey and Mystic Silver.
The P9 Plus, on the other hand is 152.3mm x 75.3 mm x 6.98 mm with a 5.5in display with a 1920x1080 resolution at 401ppi. The storage comes in only 64GB with support for a microSD card until 128GB, with a 4GB RAM. The camera is the same as the P9 and comes in Rose Gold, Haze Gold, Quartz Grey and Ceramic White.
According to GSM Arena, sales of the P9 and P9 Plus outside of China are 130% higher than the P8. In France, sales are 1000% bigger, and in Poland and Finland, the numbers have increased by 400%. In the UK, sales have increased by 300%.
The publication also claims that the P9 and P9 Plus sales are currently doing the best in China, France, Finland, and the UK.
