The live streaming app of Facebook has been great for the social media site. Though the feature came on relatively recently, it has proved very successful and has become a platform for personal interactions. Meanwhile, Tumblr, which is a blogging site, is catching on to the trend as well and will reportedly go live on the feature on June 21.
According to PC Mag, rumors of a live streaming option from Tumblr first came from a cryptic new page called LiveVideo. The page promises the addition of live streaming onto the site and that the feature will help users "learn the metaphysical truth about your Tumblr." The page was first discovered and made public through Twitter by David Chartier.
The publication notes that a streaming option is a only natural move for Tumblr, as the reaches of the site continue to expand. Its presence is even evident on Facebook, in addition to Twitter. Tumblr also lets users interact with each other through comments and reblogs, and a live streaming will just give users the option of making a more personal connection between blogger and follower.
Though LiveVideo claims some outrageous uses - which include streaming from Mars, Techno Buffalo claims that the page is real and directly linked to Tumblr.
Meanwhile, Facebook's streaming option is getting more and more attention. Web-famous individuals have been interacting with their fans, and answering questions in real time.
According to Business 2 Community, Facebook Live Video also increases the chances that a message from a fan or user will be seen by the individual or company he or she is trying to reach. The publication also mentions that live streaming makes influencers more credible and cements their status as a leader in the field.
This is important to the public and brands alike, as it is easier for individuals to trust fellow users with experience. Companies around the world can reach users in real time and answer whatever concerns these users may have.
