The rumors have been non-stop on the specifications of the upcoming Google Nexus phone. Recently, it has been established that it will mirror the specs of the HTC 10. While this is definitely exciting, as the HTC 10 is a good phone over all, there is another rumor that will be exciting to follow. That is, that the Nexus 2016 phone will sport a different, better, processor. If true, it will put the Nexus 2016 unit above and beyond the other current big players in the market.
According to IBT, HTC is expected to make two Nexus smartphones this year, one of which resembles the HTC 10. Though the leaks definitely cannot be confirmed at this point, it would mean that the HTC Nexus 2016 will have an impeccable build and stellar design.
It is also estimated that the Nexus 2016 will have 6GB of RAM, with one handset coming with 5 inch screen and the other with a 5.5 inch screen.
While it is definitely exciting that a new device will follow the golden footsteps of the HTC 10 - it was very well received - there is another rumored aspect of the Nexus 2016 phone that will bring it much further. According to Tech Radar, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 CPU. This puts the upcoming unit above even the best phones currently in the market. Right now, the Samsung S7, LG G5, OnePlus 3 and even the HTC 10 only sport the Snapdragon 820.
Not much is known about the Snapdragon 821 at this point. In fact, the next expected mobile processor from Qualcomm is the Snapdragon 823. While this could mean that the change from the 820 to the 821 may be small,it is still a bump in terms of power.
As for the other Nexus unit, it may be built with Huawei as Google's partner. It is said that Google would like to tap a bigger Chinese market. In order to obtain this, Google is rumored to be speaking with the Chinese manufacturer.
