Google is offering a four-month trial completely free of charge to new U.S. subscribers to its Play Music streaming service, in celebration of July 4.
According to MacRumors, Google Play Music subscribers have access to a library of over 35 million tracks. The regular subscription usually costs $9.99 per month, which means that the July 4 offer amounts to a $40 saving. According to Google, users can cancel the Play Music subscription at any time.
According to Android Headlines, Google Play Music is a great service that keeps improving. Aside from offering free users access to their personal music collection via WiFi and data, users with a monthly subscription also have access to any of the content in Google's media library to listen or even save for offline playback.
The service offers both paid and free users great built-in features to access Google Play Music from virtually any device, automatically generate playlists based on personal tastes and help discover new music. The deal is even more appealing with entire four months of premium service offered by Google absolutely free.
In addition to free access to Google Play Music, customers who sign up to the trial will also gain access to the ad-free YouTube Red. The service enables background and offline playback of YouTube videos on mobile devices and it features original content.
YouTube Red is a relatively new service that comes bundled with Google Play Music. The ad free service is normally priced at $9.99 per month but if you pay for one, then you get the other.
YouTube Red comes with some exclusive premium content not available to standard YouTube users and offers the advantage to enjoy videos entirely with free from advertisements. As part of the service subscribers are also able to use the YouTube Music mobile app. The mobile application plays the same content as the traditional YouTube, but also can work in the background, even when their device's display is turned off.
