Apple is never out of news! Starting from the rumored release of its next generation iPhone to Apple TV, all devices of the Cupertino based tech giant has been covered by the rumor mills. This time, rumors are rife that the company has already given orders to its Chinese manufacturing partner Foxconn to produce Apple TV.
According to China Business News via WantChinaTimes, Foxconn is in the "trial production stage" of producing the new TV.
Only a few weeks back, Business Insider reported that Foxconn had denied signing on to manufacture the new Apple TV.
"Any reports that Foxconn confirmed that it is preparing to produce a specific product for any customer are not accurate," the company said in the statement.
Meanwhile, Gene Munster, a noted analyst at investment bank Piper Jaffray, forecasted that Apple will produce an iTV of 42" to 55" with a price tag of US$1,500-US$2,000. The TV is expected to be launched in December and will be shipped in early 2013.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that Apple has initiated discussions with EPIX to stream content exclusively on Apple TV as well as any other upcoming Apple device that might stream content.
According to various rumors, the latest iTV will run on iOS, support iCloud, be controllable from an iPhone or iPad, and have access to Netflix, YouTube, and Flickr, which is similar to the existing Apple TV. Users will be able to share contents from iPods, iPhones, iPads and Streaming media from mobile devices directly to the television. It might also have a Siri-based remote control, Xbox Kinect-like features, YouTube-like feature and Home Console.
