Prior to the UFC 200, WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar was flagged by the United States Anti-Doping Agency for a possible violation. The reason of the incident was not disclosed to the public amidst the announcement.
Just last Friday, UFC officials made an announcement about the potential violation made by Brock Lesnar with regards to the Anti-Doping Policy. According to Yahoo Sports, there may have been an illegal/banned substance present in his test results that led to the announcement. The sample was taken last June 28, 2016 and results did not come until Thursday, July 14.
According to the statement made by the UFC officials, the USADA will be handling the management of the results acquired and the proper judgement of the case. They have assured that there is a fair and justified legal process done to all the athletes before any verdict shall be imposed.
According to the statement made by the UFC officials, "Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward" as reported by CBS Sports. This case still falls under the jurisdiction of the Nevada State Athletic Commission since the samples were taken at Las Vegas.
Lesnar's possible failed drug test would have to be accounted for as the second most controversial issue regarding being flagged with an anti-doping violation. The first one was Jon Jones who was notified of a failed drug test three days before the fight, which then had to be cancelled.
If the anti-doping violation remains at hand, Mark Hunt's defeat by Brock Lesnar via unanimous decision during the UFC 200 co-main event shall be taken into reconsideration. With Lesnar announcing that he would return to the Octagon after his big win last Saturday won't matter so much anymore.
