While "Pokemon GO" has become increasingly popular, it has also brought about some terrifying consequences. There have been vehicular accidents, of which reasons have been directly linked to the game. A teenage girl also found a dead body while playing the game. Stampedes have occurred because of the appearance of a rare Pokemon. More recently, two teenage boys narrowly escaped bullet shots because of the game.
As Kotaku reports, it all happened in the very early morning of July 16. Two unnamed teenagers were playing "Pokemon GO" on the street. Unfortunately, they got a little too close to a particular 37-year-old's property.
According to the property owner, he woke up because of a noise he heard outside of his home. Thinking it might be a burglar, he took his handgun outside with him. It was then that he saw a parked car by the side of the road and heard a voice asking, "Did you get anything?" The man then decided to step in front of the car and order the two teenagers not to move. The 37-year-old then claims the car moved towards him. Naturally, he stepped out of the way and ran away. When the car started to speed away, the man fired his gun at the vehicle several times.
However, the boys' testimonial is a little different. Reportedly, one of them asked, "Did you catch him?" to which his partner replied, "Yeah, did you?" When the two heard gunshots immediately after, they returned to their vehicle and sped away.
No one was hurt, but the car was damaged with bullet holes in the hubcap and fender. The vehicle also had a flat tire.
US Magazine adds that one of the boys' mothers called the police the next day to report the case. She explained to the department that the two boys were innocently playing "Pokemon GO" when the incident took a horrible turn.
