EA's presence at E3 perhaps won't be full of surprising reveals, but fans will be anticipating installments in long-running franchises. At the same time, it's going to be interesting to see how EA refreshes the long-running franchises.
Crysis 3
The first-person shooter that's a benchmark for PC performance returns next year with the probable final installment in the franchise. Some fans of the series felt the campaign in Crysis 2 became more streamlined, removing the freedom of choice Crysis 1 offered, but the developers have said Crysis 3 will bring elements of both together.
We know Crysis 3 will take place in New York, only the city has been semi-ruined by Nanodomes. Players will control Prophet also as distinct environments are explored in the city.
Battlefield
The high-octane first-person shooter, and rival to Call of Duty, debuted its new engine - Frostbite 2 - in 2011. EA and Dice now has Battlefield titles releasing bi-yearly - the main Battlefield franchise and the Medal of Honor series alternate. Also, there's every chance EA will tease Battlefield: Bad Company 3.
On Frostbite 2, will Dice preview Frostbite 3? Epic is showing off Unreal Engine 4, so Dice may be preparing for the launch of next-gen consoles in 2013 or early 2014.
Medal of Honor
Medal of Honor: Warfighter will also be on show for EA, despite a mixed reception when the Medal of Honor reboot released. Warfighter could be the antithesis to the adrenaline-pumping action in Battlefield, offering a slower-paced game.
Dead Space 3
Dead Space 3 has been rumored, and could take Isaac Clark out of a spaceship and into a snowy wasteland. Rumors said Isaac will be alone, with the blizzard conditions sounding gruelling and a contrast to the eerie quietness of Dead Space 1 and 2.
Not much is know about Dead Space 3, but apparent features include co-op and modified weapon customization. The series has been consistently well recieved since its debut, so a reveal should be welcome by fans.
When, Where, How
EA host the second conference overall, on Monday, June 4, at 1PM PDT. The conference will be an hour in length, and the publishers E3 hub can be found here.
