iPhone 7 vs iPhone 6S Specs & Feature Comparison: Should You Upgrade?

If the frequency of iPhone 7 leaks is anything to go by, Apple's upcoming device is definitely coming soon. At the beginning, there were very few photos to come by. After which, a short video clip emerged. Now, there is another video making its rounds that feature more than two minutes of footage. However, there have also been rumors that Apple is not making a lot of changes to the iPhone 7 as compared to the iPhone 6S. If these rumors are proven true, would the new flagship really be worth the trade?

As Tampa Bay Review notes, the iPhone 6S is 138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm all around and weighs in at only 143 grams. It is slightly heavier than its predecessors because of the addition of the 3D Touch Technology. The rear camera is 12 megapixels, thus offering better photo and video qualities. The front camera is great as well, at 5 megapixels. As for battery, Apple has stayed humble with a 1715 mAh battery.

The iPhone 6S is powered by the newest chip from Apple - the A9 chipset. The device also runs on 2 GB of RAM and comes equipped with internal storage options of 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.

On the other hand, the iPhone 7 is rumored to have a 4.7-inch display, just like the iPhone 6S. Their physical dimensions and weight are likely to be the same as well. One major difference that Mac Rumors notes, however, is that the camera will on the iPhone 7 will be larger and better. The antenna lines will also be rearranged and repositioned to offer a cleaner back design.

The video also clearly shows that the iPhone 7 will no longer sport the 3.5 mm headphone jack. This alone should prove that Apple will be using the Lightning cable as a substitute, as was previously reported. Instead, Apple seems to have incorporated a second speaker grille where the 3.5mm jack used to be.

The absence of the jack means much more than just a new manner to listen to music. This has also led many to believe that the battery of the iPhone 7 will be much better than its predecessor, due to the space cleared from the removal of the headphone jack.

Furthermore, the iPhone 7 is expected to come with Apple's next-generation mobile processor, the A10 chipset, which is set to be released before the end of the year. It should also come with 3 GB or RAM and a minimum storage space of 32 GB.
