Just recently, "Mortal Kombat X" fans thought that the game's "Kombat Pack 3" DLC will be (likely) unveiled at EVO. Unfortunately, the event happened, but not even a single shadow of the highly anticipated pack was casted. The answer to this is really worth investigating. Well, at least NetherRealm Studios founder Ed Boon has something to say about it.
Weeks before EVO (Evolution Championship Series), rumors were pointing at a possible "Mortal Kombat X" DLC reveal at the event. This rooted from a single tweet (from the company) in which the letters E, V and O were capitalized. Hence all fans jumped into the hype train.
According to Christian Today, Boon neither confirmed nor promised a "Mortal Kombat X" reveal at the aforementioned event. That it was never their intention to unveil the "Kombat Pack 3." Nonetheless, in his tweet, he said about an upcoming news about the "big MKXL news coming."
Moreover, Boon addressed all speculations about a supposed "Mortal Kombat X" live-action movie. He iterated that these are all false and that fans should leave them as they are.
Needless to say, lots of "Mortal Kombat X" fans were disappointed with how things turned out at EVO. A lot of them were, well, expecting for the studio to reveal "Kombat Pack 3." Nonetheless, there is every possibility that the big news coming might actually be the DLC itself.
In related news, as reported here at iTech Post, the upcoming "Mortal Kombat X" DLC will bring upgrades to two of the characters in the franchise. It was Boon who posted a poll via Twitter, asking the community on who among the DLC characters as well as the four original brawlers need some utmost attention.
The "Mortal Kombat X" poll resulted to Tremor (for the DLC fighters) and Subzero (for the original roster). The former acquired votes with a percentage of 31, whereas the latter garnered 35 percent of the total 9,000 votes.
