Finally the Galaxy Nexus owners will taste the fine flavor of the latest Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 as Verizon and Samsung are rolling out the update for the 4G LTE Nexus phones.
After a series of delays and cancellations, Verizon seems to have shown the green light for the OS update.
The Support page of the carrier shows Benefits and Instruction pages of the update.
According to Verizon, the new update will allow users to Email messages, display them properly when the text size is set to large, delete emails on the device to delete from the desktop as well, send text messages without experiencing network connectivity issues, better calendar and reminder applications, turning on Wi-Fi using the Power Control widget, calls without experiencing choppy audio, clicking noises and one-way audio noises and more.
You can manually update your phone right now or can wait for the update to arrive on handsets from Verizon any day.
To update now follow the below steps:
1. You will be notified that a system update is available on your device. Tap Install now to continue;
2. Go to "Home" > "Applications" > "Settings" > "About Phone" > "System updates". Press "Restart & install"
3. Once the update begins, power off and back on your device and you will see the android green logo on the screen
4. In case of failure to update, you will receive an error screen.
