Remembering Steve Jobs: Videos of Addresses, Interviews now on iTunes

Steve Jobs was a visionary who changed the world of computing as we knew it. Perhaps the best way to truly appreciate the legacy, was to observe him live. And, thanks to recordings at the D: All Things Digital Conference, you now have an alternative i.e. if you never had the chance to see him live.

Some of the best interviews Jobs did were recorded at the All Things Digital Conferences that were held annually from 2003 to 2010. In six lengthy interviews conducted with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher of the Wall Street Journal, Steve Jobs answers questions candidly and thoroughly unrehearsed. He outlines his thoughts on the direction of the digital world. He gives a brief description of where companies such as Apple and others may be heading. These videos are available for free download on iTunes, to commemorate the legacy. It also includes video and audio podcasts, along with several articles about the now legendary character.

We can see much of Jobs' personal philosophy revealed as he discussed the things that are important to him. A frank discussion on the thoughts of some of his competitors is also included, as is a memorable reunion with long-time rival Bill Gates.

The recordings reveal an interesting characteristic of the genius, where he explained why he thought it was more important to decide what not to include as products or features, than it was to decide what should be included. During his last conference appearance in 2010, Jobs spoke about the fact that Adobe Flash was not available on Apple iOS platforms, and expressed some serious concern about the iPhone 4 prototype, that went missing, only to turn up with Gizmodo.

This year's conference, also held to commemorate the legend, was opened by present Apple CEO Tim Cook, who was mentored by Steve Jobs. Tim outlined plans to increased security at Apple, and also hinted at some interesting developments for Siri. In a wide ranging discussion, he spoke of the emotion he felt on the day that his mentor passed away. He describes it as the saddest day of his life.

Also included in the discussion, were some of the plans for Apple to include more social integration, along with collaboration with Facebook.

CEO of Oracle, Larry Ellison, and President of Pixar, Ed Catmull were also speakers at this year's conference and spoke of some of the characteristics that made Steve Jobs a great man.
