Xiaomi started off as a small Chinese tech company that sold cheaper smartphone alternatives. However, this never stopped the company from incorporating the newest technologies, which is why it got dubbed the flagship killer.
But as Xiaomi has spent some time in the industry already, the company has started to expand its reach. The latest rumored addition is the Xiaomi Mi Air Notebook - a direct hit at Apple's MacBook Air.
As C|Net explains, the Notebook is actually manufactured by Xiaomi's partner, Tian Mi. However, it is elegantly branded under Xiaomi. It has an aluminum body and is clean from the outside. Only when the item is opened does branding become visible.
The publication lauds the Xiaomi Mi Air Notebook, its keyboard and the power it has. For example, the unit has 6GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. It is also powered by an Intel Core i5-6200U, that reaches 2.7GHz. It also sports a USB Type C-Port for charging, two USB 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI port and a 3.5mm audio port. The 40Wh battery reportedly lasts 9.5 hours on a single charge.
Despite all this power, the entire Notebook weighs just 2.82 pounds and arrives in a 309 x 210.9 x 14.8 mm package. The screen is 13.3 inches and is in full HD.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Notebook will also come in a 12.5-inch variant, according to Tech Crunch. And while it will be lighter at 2.36 pounds, it will come with only 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD. Further, it will be powered by an Intel Core-M processor. What the smaller unit has over the 13.3-inch variant, is better battery life. Reportedly, it will last for 11.5 hours on a single charge.
The 12.5 inch Xiaomi Mi Air Notebook is hitting the market at just $540. On the other hand, the 13.5-inch option is $750.
